Otrivin 0.05% Pediatric Nasal Drops 15ml

Generic Name: Xylometazoline Hydrochloride 0.05% nasal drops

Formulation: Nasal drops, 15 ml bottle

Indications:

• Relief of nasal congestion in children due to colds, sinusitis, or allergic rhinitis.

• Reduces swelling in the nasal passages to ease breathing.

Dosage & Administration:

• Children 2–12 years: 1–2 drops in each nostril 2–3 times daily, or as prescribed.

• Do not exceed 3 doses in 24 hours.

• Blow the nose gently before use.

• Use for the shortest possible duration, typically not more than 5–7 days, to prevent rebound congestion.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to xylometazoline or any component of the formulation.

• Avoid use in children under 2 years unless directed by a doctor.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in children with heart disease, high blood pressure, or thyroid disorders.

• Avoid contact with eyes.

• Prolonged or excessive use may cause rebound congestion.

Side Effects:

• Mild nasal irritation or burning

• Sneezing

• Rare: headache, dizziness, increased blood pressure

Storage:

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Not applicable for pediatric use.

Drug Interactions:

• Avoid concurrent use with other nasal decongestants.

• Use caution if the child is taking sympathomimetic medications.

Notes:

• Do not share the drops with others to prevent infections.

• Consult a doctor if symptoms persist beyond 7 days.
