Zestril 10 mg (10 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Lisinopril 10 mg (Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme Inhibitor – ACE inhibitor)

Therapeutic Class:
Antihypertensive and heart failure medication

Indications:

• Treatment of high blood pressure (essential hypertension)

• Management of heart failure (alone or in combination with diuretics)

• Improvement of survival following acute myocardial infarction (heart attack)

• Protection of kidney function in patients with diabetes (diabetic nephropathy)

Dosage:

• Hypertension: Usual starting dose is 10 mg once daily; may be adjusted to 20–40 mg daily depending on response.

• Heart failure: Start with 2.5–5 mg daily; may increase gradually to 20 mg daily as tolerated.

• After myocardial infarction: 5 mg within 24 hours of onset, followed by 5–10 mg daily as prescribed.

• May be taken with or without food, at the same time each day.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated during pregnancy, in patients with history of angioedema, or hypersensitivity to ACE inhibitors.

• Use cautiously in patients with kidney disease, dehydration, or low blood pressure.

• Monitor kidney function and serum potassium regularly.

• Avoid potassium supplements, potassium-sparing diuretics, or lithium unless prescribed and monitored by a doctor.

• May cause dizziness—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know how it affects you.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Persistent dry cough

• Headache

• Fatigue

• Low blood pressure, especially after the first dose

• High potassium levels

• Rare: angioedema (swelling of face, lips, or throat), rash, taste disturbances

Storage:
Store below 25°C, in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.
