    Combined oral contraceptive (COC) \u2014 estrogen and progestin combination<\/p>\n

    Film-coated tablets \u2014 blister pack of 28 tablets (24 active + 4 inactive\/placebo)<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Prevention of pregnancy (oral contraception)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Treatment of moderate acne vulgaris in women seeking oral contraception<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Mechanism of Action:<\/strong>
      Yaz inhibits ovulation by suppressing the release of gonadotropins (FSH and LH). It also increases cervical mucus viscosity to prevent sperm penetration and alters the endometrium to reduce the likelihood of implantation.<\/p>\n

      Dosage and Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        One tablet daily, taken at the same time each day without interruption.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        24 pink active tablets followed by 4 white placebo tablets.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        A new pack is started immediately after finishing the previous one, regardless of menstrual bleeding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        If a tablet is missed, contraceptive protection may decrease; follow the specific instructions in the product leaflet for missed doses.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Nausea, abdominal pain<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Headache, mood changes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Breast tenderness, irregular bleeding or spotting<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Fluid retention, weight changes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Rare: thromboembolic events (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Contraindicated in women with a history of thromboembolic disorders, cerebrovascular or coronary artery disease, liver tumors or severe liver disease, and hormone-sensitive malignancies.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            Caution in smokers over 35 years old and those with hypertension or diabetes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
