disease<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"253\" data-end=\"407\">\n<p data-start=\"255\" data-end=\"407\">Used in patients who do not respond adequately to, or cannot tolerate, other antianginal medications such as beta-blockers or calcium channel blockers<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"422\"><strong data-start=\"409\" data-end=\"420\">Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"700\">\n<li data-start=\"423\" data-end=\"489\">\n<p data-start=\"425\" data-end=\"489\">Usual adult dose: <strong data-start=\"443\" data-end=\"464\">10 mg twice data-end=\"923\">\n<li data-start=\"729\" data-end=\"923\">\n<p data-start=\"731\" data-end=\"923\">Nicorandil acts as both a nitrate donor and potassium channel opener, leading to relaxation of blood vessels, improved blood flow to the heart muscle, and reduced oxygen demand of the heart.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"943\"><strong data-start=\"925\" data-end=\"941\">Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1387\">\n<li data-start=\"944\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<p data-start=\"946\" data-end=\"981\">Contraindicated in patients with:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<li data-start=\"984\" data-end=\"1027\">\n<p data-start=\"986\" data-end=\"1027\">Severe hypotension (low blood pressure)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1055\">\n<p data-start=\"1032\" data-end=\"1055\">Acute pulmonary edema<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1058\" data-end=\"1079\">\n<p data-start=\"1060\" data-end=\"1079\">Cardiogenic shock<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1082\" data-end=\"1203\">\n<p data-start=\"1084\" data-end=\"1203\">Concurrent use of phosphodiesterase type-5 inhibitors (e.g., sildenafil, tadalafil) due to risk of severe hypotension<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1204\" data-end=\"1272\">\n<p data-start=\"1206\" data-end=\"1272\">Use cautiously in patients with renal impairment or dehydration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1332\">\n<p data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1332\">Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound
