Dilatrol 25 mg (30 Tablets)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active Ingredient:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Carvedilol 25 mg<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Non-selective beta-blocker with alpha-blocking activity (antihypertensive and cardioprotective agent)<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Management of chronic stable angina pectoris<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Treatment of mild to moderate heart failure (in combination with diuretics, ACE inhibitors, or digoxin)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Improvement of survival and reduction of cardiovascular events after myocardial infarction<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Hypertension:<\/strong> Usual starting dose is 12.5 mg once daily for the first two days, then increased to 25 mg once daily.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Heart failure:<\/strong> Start with 3.125 mg twice daily, gradually increasing to 25 mg twice daily depending on tolerance.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Angina or post\u2013myocardial infarction:<\/strong> 12.5\u201325 mg twice daily as directed by the physician.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Should be taken with food to slow absorption and reduce the risk of dizziness or hypotension.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Severe heart failure requiring IV inotropes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Asthma or severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Severe bradycardia, AV block (second or third degree), or cardiogenic shock<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Known hypersensitivity to carvedilol<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Use cautiously in diabetic patients (may mask symptoms of hypoglycemia).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound hypertension or angina.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and blood glucose regularly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Possible Side Effects:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              Dizziness or fatigue<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Bradycardia (slow heart rate)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Hypotension (low blood pressure), especially after the first dose<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Weight gain or fluid retention (in heart failure patients)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Nausea or diarrhea<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Cold extremities or worsening of peripheral circulation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Rare: worsening heart failure, bronchospasm in susceptible individuals<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Storage:<\/strong>
