Active Ingredient:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Candesartan cilexetil 4 mg<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Angiotensin II Receptor Blocker (ARB) \u2013 Antihypertensive<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Hypertension (High Blood Pressure):<\/strong> Lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Heart Failure:<\/strong> Improves symptoms and reduces the risk of hospitalization in patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, particularly when ACE inhibitors are not tolerated.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Hypertension:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • \n

          Usual starting dose: 4\u20138 mg once daily<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Maintenance dose: may be increased gradually up to 32 mg once daily<\/strong>, depending on response.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Heart Failure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            \n
          • \n

            Starting dose: 4 mg once daily<\/strong>, doubled at intervals of at least 2 weeks up to a maximum of 32 mg once daily<\/strong> or the highest tolerated dose.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

          • \n

            May be taken with or without food<\/strong>, preferably at the same time each day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              Candesartan blocks the binding of angiotensin II to AT\u2081 receptors in blood vessels and adrenal glands.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              This leads to vasodilation<\/strong>, reduced blood pressure<\/strong>, and decreased strain on the heart<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                \n
              • \n

                Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

                  \n
                • \n

                  Pregnancy (especially during 2nd and 3rd trimesters)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Severe hepatic impairment or cholestasis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Hypersensitivity to candesartan or any component of the product<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Use with caution in patients with:<\/p>\n

                    \n
                  • \n

                    Renal impairment or renal artery stenosis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    Dehydration or low blood volume<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    Hyperkalemia (high potassium levels)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    Avoid using potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics unless prescribed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    Monitor renal function and serum potassium<\/strong> regularly during therapy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  • \n

                    May cause dizziness; avoid driving or operating machinery if affected.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                    Possible Side Effects:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • \n

                      Dizziness, lightheadedness, or fatigue<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    • \n

                      Low blood pressure (especially after the first dose)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    • \n

                      Headache<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    • \n

                      Elevated potassium levels (hyperkalemia)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                    • \n

                      Rare: impaired kidney function, rash, or angioedema<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Storage:<\/strong>
                      Store below 25\u00b0C, in a cool, dry place away from moisture and sunlight.
