Epi-Dinitra 5 mg (30 Sublingual Tablets)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active Ingredient:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Isosorbide Dinitrate 5 mg<\/strong> \u2013 Organic nitrate vasodilator<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Antianginal and vasodilator medication<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Relief and prevention of angina pectoris<\/strong> (chest pain due to coronary artery disease)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Adjunct treatment in heart failure<\/strong> (to reduce cardiac workload)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage and Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Acute angina attack:<\/strong> Place one tablet under the tongue<\/strong> and allow it to dissolve completely.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        If pain persists after 5\u201310 minutes, another tablet may be taken.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Maximum:<\/strong> 3 tablets within 15\u201330 minutes (seek medical attention if no relief).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Prophylaxis:<\/strong> One tablet 15\u201330 minutes before activities likely to provoke angina (e.g., exertion, stress).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Do not swallow<\/strong> the tablet; sublingual absorption provides rapid onset of action (1\u20133 minutes).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Converts to nitric oxide<\/strong> in vascular smooth muscle, causing vasodilation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Reduces preload and afterload<\/strong>, lowering myocardial oxygen demand.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

          Improves coronary blood flow<\/strong> to ischemic heart tissue.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

              Severe hypotension<\/strong> or shock<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Tolerance may develop with continuous use\u2014intermittent dosing schedules are recommended.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                Possible Side Effects:<\/strong><\/p>\n

                • \n

                  Headache<\/strong> (very common, due to vasodilation)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Flushing or dizziness<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Hypotension<\/strong> (especially when standing)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                • \n

                  Reflex tachycardia<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Nausea or lightheadedness<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
