Angiofox 25 mg (30 Tablets)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Active Ingredient:<\/strong><\/p>\n

  • \n

    Captopril 25 mg<\/strong> \u2013 Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) Inhibitor<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Antihypertensive and heart failure medication (ACE inhibitor)<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Hypertension (high blood pressure)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Congestive heart failure<\/strong> (alone or in combination with diuretics\/digitalis)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Post-myocardial infarction<\/strong> (to improve survival and heart function)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Diabetic nephropathy<\/strong> (especially in type 1 diabetes to protect kidneys)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Hypertension:<\/strong> Usually 25\u201350 mg 2\u20133 times daily<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Heart failure:<\/strong> Start with 6.25\u201312.5 mg 2\u20133 times daily<\/strong>, gradually increased under medical supervision<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Should be taken 1 hour before meals<\/strong> (food reduces absorption)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Dose adjustments required in renal impairment<\/strong> or elderly patients<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Inhibits angiotensin-converting enzyme, reducing formation of angiotensin II<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Causes vasodilation<\/strong>, lowers blood pressure, and decreases cardiac workload<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Reduces aldosterone secretion, leading to less sodium and water retention<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          • \n

            Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

              \n
            • \n

              History of angioedema<\/strong> with ACE inhibitors<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Pregnancy<\/strong>, especially 2nd and 3rd trimesters<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

            • \n

              Severe renal impairment<\/strong> or bilateral renal artery stenosis<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

              Use with caution in:<\/p>\n

                Patients with kidney or liver disorders<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Diabetic patients (risk of hypoglycemia)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                Those taking potassium supplements<\/strong> or potassium-sparing diuretics<\/strong> (risk of hyperkalemia)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                Monitor blood pressure, renal function, and serum potassium<\/strong> regularly<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  Dry, persistent cough<\/strong> (common)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  High potassium (hyperkalemia)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Loss of taste (dysgeusia)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n
