    Nifedipine 10 mg<\/strong> \u2013 Calcium channel blocker<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Antihypertensive and antianginal agent<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    • \n

      Essential hypertension<\/strong> (mild to moderate)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Chronic stable angina pectoris<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Vasospastic (Prinzmetal\u2019s) angina<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage and Administration:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Typical dose:<\/strong> 1 capsule (10 mg) three times daily<\/strong>, or as prescribed by the physician.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Capsules should be swallowed whole with water<\/strong>, preferably after meals.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Do not chew or open<\/strong> the capsule.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Dosage may be adjusted gradually based on the patient\u2019s response and blood pressure control.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Nifedipine<\/strong> inhibits calcium ion influx through L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle and myocardium.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Promotes vasodilation<\/strong> of coronary and peripheral arteries.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Reduces afterload<\/strong>, blood pressure, and myocardial oxygen demand.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Enhances oxygen delivery to cardiac tissue by improving coronary blood flow.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

            Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

            • \n

              Severe hypotension<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Cardiogenic shock<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Acute myocardial infarction<\/strong> (use only under supervision)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                Avoid grapefruit juice<\/strong> and abrupt discontinuation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Nausea<\/strong>, fatigue<\/strong>, or constipation<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Rare: Gingival hyperplasia<\/strong> with prolonged use<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
