Indications:<\/strong>
Used for the treatment and prevention of infections caused by anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, including:<\/p>\n

    Amoebiasis (intestinal and hepatic)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Giardiasis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Trichomoniasis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Bacterial vaginosis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Anaerobic infections (abdominal, pelvic, or dental infections)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Pre- and postoperative prophylaxis in anaerobic contamination risk surgeries<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Mechanism of Action:<\/strong>
    Ornidazole enters susceptible organisms and disrupts DNA synthesis<\/strong>, leading to cell death. It is effective against anaerobic bacteria and protozoa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

    Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      Usual adult dose: 500\u20131000 mg twice daily<\/strong>, depending on infection type and severity.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Duration: typically 5\u201310 days<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      For prophylaxis: 500 mg before surgery<\/strong> and continued postoperatively as directed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      Take with or after food<\/strong> to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
