Medication Name: Windipine 10mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredient (per tablet):

• Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 10 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine type) — Antihypertensive and antianginal agent

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets — 30 tablets per pack

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Chronic stable angina

• Vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Mechanism of Action:
Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx across vascular smooth muscle and cardiac muscle, leading to:

• Relaxation of arterial smooth muscle

• Reduction in peripheral vascular resistance

• Decreased myocardial oxygen demand

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: 5–10 mg once daily, depending on patient response.

• Maximum dose: 10 mg once daily.

• May be taken with or without food.

Precautions:

• Use cautiously in patients with severe hepatic impairment, heart failure, or hypotension.

• Gradual dose adjustment recommended when switching from other antihypertensive agents.

Common Side Effects:

• Peripheral edema (ankle or foot swelling)

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Fatigue

• Flushing

• Palpitations

• Headache
