Pharmacological Class:

• Non-selective beta-blocker with alpha-1 adrenergic blocking properties

Dosage Form:
Tablets — 30 per pack

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Chronic heart failure (as adjunct therapy)

• Angina pectoris (chest pain due to coronary artery disease)

• Left ventricular dysfunction following myocardial infarction

Mechanism of Action:

• Beta-blockade: Reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output.

• Alpha-1 blockade: Causes peripheral vasodilation, lowering systemic vascular resistance.

• Combined effect leads to decreased blood pressure and improved cardiac performance.

Dosage:

• Typical adult dose: One tablet once or twice daily, depending on clinical response.

• Dose should be gradually titrated under medical supervision.

Precautions:

• Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and blood glucose regularly.
