    Hypertension (high blood pressure)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Chronic stable angina pectoris<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Chronic heart failure (in combination with other medications)<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Mechanism of Action:<\/strong>
    Bisoprolol selectively blocks \u03b2\u2081-adrenergic receptors in the heart, leading to:<\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Decreased heart rate and contractility<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Reduced cardiac output and oxygen demand<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Lowered blood pressure through suppression of renin release<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Typical starting dose: 5 mg once daily<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Maintenance dose: 5\u201310 mg once daily<\/strong>, based on response<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Maximum dose: 20 mg once daily<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Taken preferably in the morning with or without food<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Use cautiously in patients with bradycardia, heart block, severe heart failure, asthma, COPD, diabetes, or thyroid disorders<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Do not discontinue abruptly; taper dose gradually to avoid rebound effects.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG<\/strong> regularly.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Use with caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
