Pharmacological Class:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Valsartan: Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Hydrochlorothiazide: Thiazide diuretic<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Dosage Form:<\/strong>
    Tablets \u2014 14 per pack<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)<\/strong> in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      May be used as substitution therapy<\/strong> for patients already stabilized on valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide separately.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Valsartan:<\/strong> Blocks the effects of angiotensin II at the AT1 receptor, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion, which leads to decreased blood pressure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Hydrochlorothiazide:<\/strong> Increases sodium and water excretion by inhibiting sodium reabsorption in the distal renal tubules, reducing plasma volume and blood pressure.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        The combination provides additive antihypertensive effects<\/strong> through complementary mechanisms.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Usual dose: One tablet once daily<\/strong>, taken with or without food.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Dosage may be adjusted based on blood pressure response and clinical condition.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n
