data-end=\"590\">\n<p data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"590\"><strong data-start=\"516\" data-end=\"533\">Hypertension:<\/strong> Typically 5 mg once daily; may be increased if needed.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"591\" data-end=\"659\">\n<p data-start=\"593\" data-end=\"659\">Should be taken <strong data-start=\"609\" data-end=\"627\">in the morning<\/strong> to avoid nocturnal urination.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"660\" data-end=\"702\">\n<p data-start=\"662\" data-end=\"702\">Can be taken <strong data-start=\"675\" data-end=\"699\">with or without food<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"847\"><strong data-start=\"704\" data-end=\"728\">Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><br data-start=\"728\" data-end=\"731\" \/>Torsemide inhibits the <strong data-start=\"754\" data-end=\"783\">Na\u207a\/K\u207a\/2Cl\u207b cotransporter<\/strong> in the thick ascending limb of the loop of Henle, leading to:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"848\" data-end=\"991\">\n<li data-start=\"848\" data-end=\"902\">\n<p data-start=\"850\" data-end=\"902\">Increased excretion of sodium, chloride, and water<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"903\" data-end=\"952\">\n<p data-start=\"905\" data-end=\"952\">Reduction in blood volume and venous pressure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"953\" data-end=\"991\">\n<p data-start=\"955\" data-end=\"991\">Decreased edema and blood pressure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1011\"><strong data-start=\"993\" data-end=\"1009\">Precautions:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul
