    Telmisartan 160 mg<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Therapeutic Class:<\/strong>
    Angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) \u2013 Antihypertensive<\/p>\n

    Indications:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • \n

      Hypertension (high blood pressure)<\/strong> in adults, either as monotherapy or in combination with other antihypertensives.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Cardiovascular risk reduction<\/strong> in patients at high risk of heart attack, stroke, or cardiovascular death.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      May be used in patients with left ventricular hypertrophy<\/strong> or diabetic nephropathy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • \n

        Usual adult dose:<\/strong> 20\u201380 mg once daily; in some patients, dose may be increased up to 160 mg once daily based on blood pressure response.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Can be taken with or without food<\/strong>, preferably at the same time each day.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

      • \n

        Dose adjustments may be required in renal or hepatic impairment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/p>\n

        • \n

          Blocks angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone secretion.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        • \n

          Leads to vasodilation<\/strong>, reduced blood pressure, and decreased cardiac workload.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Contraindicated in:<\/p>\n

              Pregnancy and breastfeeding<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

              Bilateral renal artery stenosis<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n

                Electrolyte imbalances (especially potassium)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

                  Rare: angioedema, kidney impairment, fainting<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
