Indications:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Xithrone suspension is used to treat bacterial infections<\/strong> caused by susceptible organisms, including:<\/p>\n

    Upper and lower respiratory tract infections:<\/strong> pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Ear infections:<\/strong> otitis media<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Skin and soft tissue infections<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Typhoid fever<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n

  • \n

    Certain gastrointestinal and genitourinary infections<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Mechanism of Action:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    • \n

      Azithromycin binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit<\/strong> of bacteria.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      It inhibits protein synthesis<\/strong>, stopping bacterial growth and replication (bacteriostatic effect).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    • \n

      Has a long half-life<\/strong>, allowing once-daily dosing<\/strong> and short treatment duration.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Dosage and Administration:<\/strong><\/h3>\n

        Children:<\/strong> 10 mg\/kg once daily for 3 days<\/strong>, or as prescribed by the physician.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Shake the bottle well before each dose<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        Use the provided measuring syringe or spoon<\/strong> for accurate dosing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

        May be taken with or without food<\/strong>, but taking with food can reduce stomach upset.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
