Zithrokan 200mg Suspension

Zithrokan 200 mg/5 ml Suspension (Azithromycin)

Active Ingredient:
Azithromycin 200 mg per 5 ml

Pharmacological Class:
Macrolide antibiotic

Indications:
Used to treat bacterial infections such as:

• Upper and lower respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Ear, nose, and throat infections

• Certain sexually transmitted infections (caused by Chlamydia trachomatis)

Dosage (for children):

• The typical dose is 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days, or as prescribed by the physician.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

Dosage (for adults):

• Standard dose: 500 mg once daily for 3 days, or as directed by a doctor.

Administration:

• Take the suspension on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals).

• Shake well before each use.

Precautions:

• Avoid use in patients with known hypersensitivity to macrolides.

• Use with caution in patients with liver impairment.

• May interact with antacids containing aluminum or magnesium (take them at least 2 hours apart).

Possible Side Effects:

• Nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain

• Headache, dizziness

• Mild skin rash (seek medical help if severe)

Storage:

• Store below 25°C.

• Once reconstituted, use within 5 days and keep in the refrigerator.
