Indications:
Used to treat bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:

Community-acquired and nosocomial pneumonia

Complicated urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis

Skin and soft tissue infections

Chronic bronchitis exacerbations

Intra-abdominal and septicemia-related infections
Mechanism of Action:
Levofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, enzymes required for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair, leading to bacterial cell death.
Dosage and Administration:

Typical adult dose: 500 mg IV once daily (infused over 60 minutes).

Duration: 5–14 days depending on infection type and severity.

Dose adjustment required in renal impairment (CrCl < 50 mL/min).

May switch to oral form once clinical improvement is achieved.

Precautions:
