Composition

Each suppository contains:

• Pentoxyverine Citrate – 10 mg

Indications

• Relief of dry, non-productive cough (irritative cough)

• Cough caused by throat irritation, tracheitis, or bronchitis

Mechanism of Action

• Pentoxyverine acts centrally on the cough center in the medulla to reduce the cough reflex.

• It also has mild local anesthetic and antispasmodic effects on the respiratory tract.

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Rectal

• Adults and children over 6 years: 1 suppository 2–3 times daily

• Children under 6 years: As directed by a physician

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to pentoxyverine or any excipient

• Productive cough (with mucus)

• Severe respiratory insufficiency

Precautions

• Use with caution in liver disease

• Avoid alcohol and CNS depressants during use

Side Effects

• Mild drowsiness

• Dizziness

• Gastrointestinal discomfort (rare)
