Plendil 10 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Felodipine 10 mg

Therapeutic Class:
Calcium channel blocker – Dihydropyridine

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) in adults

• May be used for angina pectoris (chest pain) in some patients

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose adjustments may be needed based on blood pressure response and tolerance.

Mechanism of Action:

• Blocks calcium channels in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation.

• Reduces peripheral resistance, lowers blood pressure, and decreases cardiac workload.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Hypersensitivity to felodipine

  • Severe hypotension

  • Cardiogenic shock

• Use with caution in:

  • Heart failure

  • Liver impairment

  • Patients on other antihypertensives

• Monitor blood pressure regularly.

Possible Side Effects:

• Headache

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Flushing

• Peripheral edema (swelling of hands/feet)

• Rare: palpitations, fatigue, or gastrointestinal upset

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
