Medication Name: Nebilet Plus 5/12.5mg 14 Tablets

Active Ingredients (per tablet):

• Nebivolol 5 mg

• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Combination of a beta-blocker (Nebivolol) and a thiazide diuretic (Hydrochlorothiazide) — Antihypertensive

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets — 14 tablets per pack

Indications:

• Treatment of essential hypertension in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy

• Particularly useful when a combination of a beta-blocker and a diuretic is required

Mechanism of Action:

• Nebivolol: Selective β1-adrenergic receptor blocker with vasodilating properties through nitric oxide release, reducing heart rate and peripheral resistance.

• Hydrochlorothiazide: Increases urinary sodium and water excretion, reducing plasma volume and blood pressure.
  The combined effect provides enhanced antihypertensive efficacy.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily, at the same time each day

• Can be taken with or without food

• Dose adjustments depend on blood pressure response and tolerance

Precautions:

• Avoid in severe renal or hepatic impairment, severe bradycardia, or uncompensated heart failure

• Monitor electrolytes, especially potassium and sodium

• Use cautiously in diabetic patients as it may alter glucose tolerance

Common Side Effects:

• Dizziness or fatigue

• Headache

• Bradycardia

• Muscle cramps

• Increased urination

• Electrolyte imbalance (hypokalemia or hyponatremia)
