Medication Name: Gynozol 400 mg vaginal suppositories (3 suppositories)
Active Ingredient: Clotrimazole 400 mg
Drug Class: Antifungal (azole class)

Indications:

Gynozol is used for treatment of vaginal fungal infections (candidiasis/yeast infection), which may cause:

• Vaginal itching or irritation

• Abnormal discharge (white, thick, cottage-cheese-like)

• Redness or swelling of the vulva and vaginal area

Mechanism of Action:

• Clotrimazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane.

• This leads to disruption of the fungal cell membrane, causing death of the fungus and resolution of infection.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: Insert 1 suppository (400 mg) vaginally at bedtime for 3 consecutive nights.

• Wash hands before and after application.

• Best to lie down for a few minutes after insertion to prevent leakage.

• Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment or use a condom, as the suppository may weaken latex.

Side Effects:

• Mild burning, itching, or irritation after insertion

• Vaginal dryness or discomfort

• Rarely: abdominal cramps, headache, or allergic reaction

Warnings and Precautions:

• For intravaginal use only; do not ingest.

• Avoid using other vaginal products simultaneously unless advised by a doctor.

• If symptoms persist longer than 7 days or worsen, consult a healthcare provider.

• Not recommended during first trimester of pregnancy unless prescribed.
