Medication Name: Floxamo 1000 mg Tablets (16 Tablets)
Active Ingredients: Amoxicillin 875 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg

Pharmacologic Class: Broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic (β-lactam) combined with β-lactamase inhibitor

Indications:

• Respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, bronchitis, pneumonia).

• Ear, nose, and throat infections (such as otitis media and tonsillitis).

• Urinary tract infections.

• Skin and soft tissue infections.

• Bone and joint infections.

• Dental infections.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults: 1 tablet (1000 mg) every 12 hours, or as directed by a physician.

• Take at the start of a meal to reduce gastrointestinal discomfort.

• Swallow tablets whole with water—do not crush or chew.

• Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to penicillins, cephalosporins, or any component of the drug.

• History of liver dysfunction or jaundice associated with amoxicillin/clavulanate use.

Precautions:

• Use with caution in patients with liver or kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed).

• Prolonged use may cause secondary infections such as oral or vaginal fungal overgrowth.

• May interfere with oral contraceptive effectiveness—additional contraception is advised during treatment.

• Stop immediately and contact a doctor if signs of allergy occur (rash, itching, swelling, or breathing difficulty).

Common Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

• Abdominal pain or bloating

• Skin rash or itching

• Mild headache

Serious Side Effects (rare):

• Severe allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)

• Liver dysfunction (yellowing of skin or eyes, dark urine)

• Severe or persistent diarrhea (may indicate antibiotic-associated colitis)
