Active Ingredient:
Gliclazide 60 mg (Modified Release)

Pharmacological Class:
Sulfonylurea antidiabetic agent

Indication:
Used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve glycemic control when diet, exercise, and other oral antidiabetic agents are insufficient.

Dosage:

• Usually taken once daily with breakfast.

• Dose may be adjusted based on blood glucose levels and response.

• Maximum recommended daily dose should not be exceeded.

Administration:

• Take orally with food to reduce gastrointestinal upset and enhance absorption.

• Swallow tablets whole; do not crush or chew.

Precautions:

• Monitor blood glucose regularly to prevent hypoglycemia.

• Use with caution in elderly patients, those with renal or hepatic impairment, or at risk of hypoglycemia.

• Alcohol may enhance hypoglycemic effects.

• Dose adjustments may be required during illness, changes in diet, or physical activity.

Possible Side Effects:
Hypoglycemia, weight gain, nausea, vomiting, gastrointestinal discomfort, skin reactions (rash, itching), and rarely hematologic disorders.
