Colmediten 0.5 mg Tablets

Active Ingredient:
Colchicine 0.5 mg

Drug Class:
Anti-gout agent – Anti-inflammatory

Indications:
• Acute gout attacks
• Prevention of recurrent gout attacks
• Familial Mediterranean fever (FMF)

Dosage:

• Acute gout attack: 1–2 tablets at the first sign of attack, followed by 0.5 mg every 2–3 hours until relief or maximum dose is reached.

• Prevention: 0.5–1 mg once or twice daily as prescribed.
  Adjust dose in patients with renal or hepatic impairment.

Contraindications:
• Hypersensitivity to colchicine
• Severe renal or hepatic impairment
• Blood disorders (e.g., bone marrow suppression)
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a physician

Precautions:
• Use cautiously in elderly patients
• Monitor for gastrointestinal symptoms and signs of toxicity
• Avoid concomitant use with strong CYP3A4 inhibitors or P-glycoprotein inhibitors unless supervised
• Discontinue if severe diarrhea, vomiting, or muscle weakness occurs

Common Side Effects:
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Abdominal pain
• Rare: bone marrow suppression, neuropathy, myopathy

Store below 30°C in a dry place.
