Bisocard 2.5 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Bisoprolol 2.5 mg

Therapeutic Class:
Beta‑blocker – Cardioselective

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Chronic stable angina (chest pain)

• Chronic heart failure (as part of standard therapy for selected patients)

• May also be used after myocardial infarction to improve survival in stable patients.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: 1 tablet once daily, preferably in the morning.

• Can be taken with or without food.

• Dose may be adjusted according to blood pressure, heart rate, and clinical response.

Mechanism of Action:

• Selectively blocks beta‑1 adrenergic receptors in the heart.

• Reduces heart rate, cardiac output, and blood pressure, decreasing cardiac workload and oxygen demand.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Severe bradycardia (slow heart rate)

  • Heart block greater than first degree

  • Cardiogenic shock or decompensated heart failure

  • Severe hypotension

  • Hypersensitivity to bisoprolol

• Use with caution in:

  • Asthma or COPD (risk of bronchospasm, though lower than non-selective beta-blockers)

  • Diabetes mellitus (may mask hypoglycemia symptoms)

  • Peripheral vascular disease

• Abrupt discontinuation should be avoided; taper gradually to prevent rebound hypertension or angina.

Possible Side Effects:

• Fatigue, dizziness, or lightheadedness

• Slow heart rate (bradycardia)

• Hypotension

• Cold extremities

• Gastrointestinal disturbances (nausea, diarrhea)

• Rare: shortness of breath, depression, or sleep disturbances

Storage:

• Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture.

• Keep out of reach of children.
