Composition

• Active Ingredient: Fusidic Acid 2%

Indications

• Treatment of bacterial skin infections, including:

  • Impetigo

  • Folliculitis

  • Minor infected cuts and abrasions

  • Infected eczema

Mechanism of Action

• Fusidic acid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis, preventing bacterial growth and allowing the infection to heal

Dosage & Administration

• Route: Topical

• Apply a thin layer to the affected area 2–3 times daily

• Cover with a sterile dressing if advised

• Use for the full course even if symptoms improve

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to fusidic acid or any component of the cream

Precautions

• Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes

• Prolonged use may cause resistance

• Discontinue if allergic reaction occurs

Side Effects

• Mild burning, itching, or irritation at the application site

• Rare: rash or allergic reactions
