Amloveran 5/5 mg (30 Tablets)

Active Ingredients:

• Amlodipine 5 mg (Calcium channel blocker)

• Valsartan 5 mg (Angiotensin II receptor blocker, ARB)

Therapeutic Class:
Combination antihypertensive – Calcium channel blocker + ARB

Indications:

• Hypertension (high blood pressure) when single-agent therapy is insufficient

• Helps reduce cardiovascular strain and improve arterial relaxation

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: One tablet once daily, preferably at the same time each day

• Can be taken with or without food

• Dose may be adjusted according to blood pressure response and tolerability

Mechanism of Action:

• Amlodipine: Inhibits calcium influx in vascular smooth muscle, leading to vasodilation and reduced vascular resistance

• Valsartan: Blocks angiotensin II receptors, preventing vasoconstriction and aldosterone effects, resulting in lower blood pressure

• Combination provides dual action for better blood pressure control

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in:

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding

  • Severe liver impairment

  • Hypersensitivity to amlodipine, valsartan, or other ARBs

• Use with caution in:

  • Kidney impairment

  • Hypotension

  • Electrolyte imbalances (especially potassium)

• Monitor blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolytes periodically

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Fatigue or headache

• Peripheral edema (swelling of ankles or feet)

• Flushing

• Rare: hypotension, hyperkalemia, allergic reactions
