Blephadexoline Eye Drops 10ml

Generic Name: Chloramphenicol 0.5% / Dexamethasone 0.1% ophthalmic solution

Formulation: Eye drops, 10 ml bottle

Indications:

• Treatment of bacterial eye infections associated with inflammation.

• Effective for conjunctivitis, blepharitis, and other superficial ocular infections.

• Combines an antibiotic (chloramphenicol) with an anti-inflammatory corticosteroid (dexamethasone).

Dosage & Administration:

• Instill 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every 4–6 hours, or as prescribed.

• Shake well before use.

• Wash hands before applying and avoid touching the dropper tip.

• Remove contact lenses before use; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to chloramphenicol, dexamethasone, or any component.

• Viral, fungal, or mycobacterial eye infections (unless directed by a doctor).

• Patients with a history of bone marrow suppression should avoid chloramphenicol unless strictly necessary.

Precautions:

• Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure or cause glaucoma or cataracts.

• Avoid long-term use due to the risk of secondary infections.

• Temporary blurred vision may occur after instillation.

Side Effects:

• Mild burning or stinging

• Eye irritation or redness

• Increased intraocular pressure (with prolonged use)

• Rare: allergic reactions or delayed wound healing

Storage:

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep tightly closed and protected from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.

Drug Interactions:

• Caution when combined with other ocular steroids or medications affecting intraocular pressure.

Notes:

• Do not stop the medication suddenly without medical advice.

• Complete the prescribed course even if symptoms improve.
