Composition

Each gram of gel contains:

• Diclofenac diethylamine 1.16% w/w (equivalent to Diclofenac sodium 1%)

Indications

Used for local relief of pain and inflammation associated with:

• Muscle pain or stiffness

• Backache and neck pain

• Joint pain (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis)

• Sports injuries such as sprains, strains, or bruises

Mechanism of Action

• Diclofenac inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes, reducing prostaglandin synthesis.

• This decreases local inflammation, pain, and swelling at the application site.

Dosage & Administration

• Apply a small amount (2–4 g) to the affected area 3–4 times daily.

• Gently massage until fully absorbed.

• For external use only.

• Wash hands thoroughly after application.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to diclofenac or other NSAIDs.

• History of asthma, urticaria, or allergic reaction after taking NSAIDs.

• Avoid application on open wounds, eczema, or infected skin.

Precautions

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

• Do not use with occlusive dressings.

• Discontinue use if skin irritation or rash occurs.

• Not recommended during third trimester of pregnancy or in children under 12 years unless advised by a doctor.

Possible Side Effects

• Local redness, itching, or rash

• Rarely, photosensitivity reactions

• Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place.

• Keep away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
