Medication Name: Windipine 5mg 30 Tablets

Active Ingredient (per tablet):

• Amlodipine besylate equivalent to Amlodipine 5 mg

Pharmacological Class:
Calcium channel blocker (dihydropyridine type) — Antihypertensive and antianginal agent

Dosage Form:
Film-coated tablets — 30 tablets per pack

Indications:

• Treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Management of chronic stable angina

• Treatment of vasospastic (Prinzmetal’s) angina

Mechanism of Action:
Amlodipine inhibits calcium ion influx through L-type calcium channels in vascular smooth and cardiac muscle, leading to:

• Dilation of peripheral arterioles

• Reduction of peripheral vascular resistance

• Decreased myocardial oxygen demand

Dosage:

• Usual adult starting dose: 5 mg once daily

• May be increased to 10 mg once daily according to clinical response

• Can be taken with or without food

Precautions:

• Use cautiously in patients with severe hepatic impairment or heart failure

• Dose adjustment may be needed in elderly or debilitated patients

• Avoid abrupt discontinuation

Common Side Effects:

• Peripheral edema

• Dizziness or flushing

• Fatigue

• Palpitations

• Headache
