Medication Name: Cosimprel 5/10mg 15 Tablets

Active Ingredients (per tablet):

• Bisoprolol fumarate 5 mg

• Perindopril arginine 10 mg

Pharmacological Class:

• Bisoprolol: Beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker (Beta-blocker)

• Perindopril: Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitor

Dosage Form:
Tablets — 15 per pack

Indications:

• Treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Chronic stable heart failure (in some patients under medical supervision)

• Used when combination therapy with a beta-blocker and ACE inhibitor is appropriate

Mechanism of Action:

• Bisoprolol: Reduces heart rate, myocardial contractility, and cardiac output by blocking beta-1 adrenergic receptors in the heart.

• Perindopril: Inhibits the conversion of angiotensin I to angiotensin II, resulting in vasodilation and reduced blood pressure.

• The combination lowers both heart workload and systemic vascular resistance.

Dosage:

• Typical dose: One tablet once daily, preferably in the morning before breakfast.

• Dose adjustments should be made under medical supervision according to blood pressure and clinical response.

Precautions:

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, renal function, and electrolytes is advised.

• Use with caution in patients with renal impairment, heart failure, or bradycardia (slow heart rate).

• Contraindicated in pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe hypotension, second- or third-degree AV block, and cardiogenic shock.

• Avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent rebound hypertension or angina.

Common Side Effects:

• Fatigue or dizziness

• Bradycardia (slow heart rate)

• Hypotension (low blood pressure)

• Cough (due to ACE inhibition)

• Headache
