Seloken ZOC 50 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Metoprolol succinate 50 mg (Extended-release beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker)

Therapeutic Class:
Beta-blocker (cardioselective, extended-release formulation)

Indications:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Adjunct therapy in chronic heart failure (NYHA class II–IV)

• Secondary prevention after myocardial infarction

• Control of certain cardiac arrhythmias (e.g., atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia)

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: one tablet once daily.

• Can be taken with or immediately after food.

• Tablets must be swallowed whole with water; do not chew or crush.

• Dose may be titrated gradually depending on clinical response, heart rate, and blood pressure.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in severe bradycardia, heart block (second or third degree), cardiogenic shock, and uncontrolled heart failure.

• Use with caution in patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, thyroid disorders, or peripheral vascular disease.

• Do not discontinue abruptly; taper gradually over 1–2 weeks to avoid rebound hypertension or angina.

• Regularly monitor blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG.

• May mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients.

Possible Side Effects:

• Fatigue or weakness

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Bradycardia (slow pulse)

• Cold hands or feet

• Gastrointestinal upset, nausea

• Sleep disturbances or vivid dreams

• Rare: depression, shortness of breath, or worsening heart failure
