Telfast decongestant 10 tab

Medication Name: Telfast Decongestant 10 tablets
Active Ingredients:

• Fexofenadine hydrochloride 120 mg (antihistamine)

• Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride 60 mg (decongestant)

Drug Class: Combination antihistamine + nasal decongestant

Indications:

Telfast Decongestant is used for relief of symptoms related to allergic conditions, including:

• Seasonal allergic rhinitis (hay fever)

• Nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes

• Sinus congestion associated with allergies

Mechanism of Action:

• Fexofenadine: A second-generation antihistamine that blocks histamine H1 receptors, reducing allergy symptoms without causing significant drowsiness.

• Pseudoephedrine: A sympathomimetic decongestant that constricts blood vessels in the nasal passages, reducing swelling and congestion.

Dosage and Administration:

• Adults and children ≥12 years: 1 tablet twice daily (morning and early afternoon).

• Take with water, can be taken with or without food.

• Do not exceed the recommended dose.

• Avoid taking late in the day to prevent insomnia due to pseudoephedrine.

Side Effects:

• Dry mouth

• Insomnia or difficulty sleeping

• Nervousness, restlessness, or mild anxiety

• Dizziness or headache

• Increased heart rate or mild elevation of blood pressure

Warnings and Precautions:

• Not recommended for patients with:

  • Severe hypertension or heart disease

  • Glaucoma

  • Severe kidney or liver impairment

• Avoid other decongestants or stimulants concurrently.

• Use caution in elderly patients or those sensitive to stimulants.

• If symptoms persist for more than 7 days, consult a doctor.

Storage:

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), away from moisture and direct sunlight.
