Optipred 10mg/ml Eye Drops 5ml

Generic Name: Prednisolone Acetate 1% ophthalmic suspension

Formulation: Eye drops, 5 ml bottle, 10 mg/ml

Indications:

• Treatment of inflammatory eye conditions such as uveitis, conjunctivitis, keratitis, and post-surgical inflammation.

• Reduces redness, swelling, and irritation of the eye.

Dosage & Administration:

• Usually 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) 2–4 times daily, or as prescribed by a doctor.

• Shake well before use.

• Wash hands before use and avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye.

• Remove contact lenses before instillation; wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting.

Contraindications:

• Hypersensitivity to prednisolone or any component of the formulation.

• Viral, fungal, or mycobacterial eye infections (unless directed by a doctor).

Precautions:

• Prolonged use may increase intraocular pressure or lead to cataract formation.

• Use with caution in patients with glaucoma, corneal thinning, or ocular infections.

• Temporary blurred vision may occur.

Side Effects:

• Mild stinging or burning

• Increased intraocular pressure (with long-term use)

• Eye irritation or redness

• Rare: secondary infections, delayed wound healing

Storage:

• Store at room temperature below 25°C.

• Keep the bottle tightly closed and protected from light.

• Keep out of reach of children.

Pregnancy & Lactation:

• Use only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.

Drug Interactions:

• Caution with other ophthalmic medications, especially those affecting intraocular pressure.

Notes:

• Follow the doctor’s dosing instructions carefully.

• Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.

• Regular ophthalmic monitoring is recommended during prolonged therapy.
