Chartoreg 40 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Valsartan 40 mg (Angiotensin II receptor blocker – ARB)

Therapeutic Class:
Antihypertensive (ARB)

Indications:

• Management of essential hypertension in adults.

• May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medications.

• Works by relaxing and widening blood vessels to lower blood pressure and improve blood flow.

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: one tablet once daily.

• May be taken with or without food.

• The dose can be adjusted based on blood pressure response, up to higher strengths if needed.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated during pregnancy and in patients with severe liver impairment.

• Caution in patients with renal impairment, dehydration, or low sodium levels.

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure, renal function, and potassium levels is advised.

• Avoid use with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics unless prescribed.

Possible Side Effects:

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Headache

• Fatigue

• Hypotension (especially after the first dose)

• Increased potassium levels (hyperkalemia)

• Rare: skin rash, kidney function changes
