Seloken ZOC 25 mg (28 Tablets)

Active Ingredient:

• Metoprolol succinate 25 mg (Extended-release beta-1 selective adrenergic blocker)

Therapeutic Class:
Beta-blocker (cardioselective, extended-release formulation)

Indications:

• Management of hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Treatment of chronic stable angina pectoris (chest pain)

• Adjunct therapy for chronic heart failure (NYHA class II–IV)

• Secondary prevention after myocardial infarction

• Control of certain cardiac arrhythmias (e.g., atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia)

Dosage:

• Usual adult dose: one tablet once daily.

• Take with or immediately after food.

• Swallow whole with water; do not chew or crush the tablet.

• Dose may be adjusted gradually depending on blood pressure, heart rate, and clinical response.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with severe bradycardia, second- or third-degree heart block, cardiogenic shock, or uncontrolled heart failure.

• Caution in patients with asthma, COPD, diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or thyroid disorders.

• Do not discontinue suddenly; taper over 1–2 weeks to avoid rebound hypertension or angina.

• Regular monitoring of blood pressure, heart rate, and ECG is recommended.

• May mask symptoms of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients.

Possible Side Effects:

• Fatigue or tiredness

• Dizziness or lightheadedness

• Slow heart rate (bradycardia)

• Cold hands or feet

• Nausea or gastrointestinal discomfort

• Sleep disturbances or vivid dreams

• Rare: depression, shortness of breath, or worsening heart failure
