Medication Name: Bioglita Plus 15/850 mg 30 Tablets
Active Ingredients:
Pioglitazone 15 mg
Metformin Hydrochloride 850 mg
Pharmacological Class:
Thiazolidinedione + Biguanide combination (antidiabetic agents)
Indication:
Used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood glucose control when diet, exercise, and monotherapy with either pioglitazone or metformin do not provide adequate control.
Dosage:
Usually one tablet taken once or twice daily with meals, depending on the patient’s previous therapy and tolerance.
The dose should be individualized based on clinical response and glycemic control.

Precautions:

Contraindicated in patients with severe renal impairment, hepatic disease, or heart failure (NYHA Class III or IV).

Monitor liver function before and during treatment.

Use with caution in patients at risk of bladder cancer.

Avoid excessive alcohol intake to reduce the risk of lactic acidosis.
Possible Side Effects:
Weight gain, edema, headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhea, hypoglycemia (especially with other antidiabetic agents), and in rare cases, lactic acidosis or hepatic enzyme elevation.
