Medication Name: Xyclindo 1% Topical Foam 100ml

Active Ingredient:
Clindamycin phosphate 1% (equivalent to clindamycin 10 mg per ml)

Pharmacological Class:
Topical lincosamide antibiotic

Dosage Form:
Topical foam for external dermatological use

Indications:

• Treatment of mild to moderate acne vulgaris

• Reduces inflammatory lesions caused by Cutibacterium acnes (formerly Propionibacterium acnes)

Mechanism of Action:
Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, suppressing bacterial growth and inflammation in acne lesions.

Dosage and Administration:

• Apply a small amount of foam once or twice daily to the affected skin areas after cleansing and drying.

• Use enough to cover the area lightly without over-application.

• Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, or mucous membranes.

• Wash hands thoroughly after use.

Side Effects:

• Mild skin irritation, dryness, redness, or peeling

• Itching or burning sensation at the application site

• Rare systemic effects such as abdominal discomfort or antibiotic-associated diarrhea

Precautions:

• For external use only.

• Do not apply to broken or sunburned skin.

• Avoid prolonged use without medical supervision.

• Discontinue if severe irritation or allergic reaction develops.

• Use cautiously in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis.

Store below 25°C, away from heat and direct sunlight.
