Pharmacological Class:
Macrolide antibiotic

Indications:
Used for the treatment of infections caused by susceptible bacteria, including:

• Upper respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis)

• Lower respiratory tract infections (bronchitis, pneumonia)

• Otitis media (middle ear infection)

• Skin and soft tissue infections

• Certain genital infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis

Dosage (for children):

• Usual dose: 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days, or as prescribed by the doctor.

• Shake the bottle well before each use.

• Use the provided dosing syringe or spoon for accurate measurement.

Dosage (for adults):

• Adults are generally prescribed tablet forms (250 mg or 500 mg), but the suspension can be used when tablets are not suitable.

• Typical total dose: 500 mg once daily for 3 days, adjusted by the physician.

Administration:

• Take on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after meals).

• Shake well before each use.

Precautions:

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to azithromycin or other macrolide antibiotics.

• Use cautiously in patients with liver disease.

• Maintain at least a 2-hour gap from antacids containing aluminum or magnesium.

Possible Side Effects:

• Nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea

• Headache, dizziness

• Mild rash or itching (stop use and seek medical advice if severe)

Storage:

• Store below 25°C.

• After reconstitution, keep refrigerated and use within 5 days.
